Signed lower right and dated 1904.

The artist has employed a warm and harmonious palette of earthy browns, ochres and soft greens, conveying the atmosphere of a working farm at the turn of the century. The curving track leading through the composition draws the eye towards the farmhouse and outbuildings, while the carefully observed poultry lend both animation and narrative interest to the scene.

Presented in an attractive decorative frame, the painting is ready to hang and would make a delightful addition to a country house, farmhouse or traditional interior.

Technical Information

Date: 1904
Framed: 45 x 62.5 x 3.5 cm.
